West Ham scraped through to the FA Cup fifth round thanks to Crysencio Summerville's deflected strike in extra time. Burton, managed by Gary Bowyer, put up a valiant fight against a heavily rotated Hammers side. The hosts created the better chances in normal time through Revan, Evans and Shade. Summerville's 95th minute goal, which deflected off Vancooten, spared West Ham's blushes. Freddie Potts' red card in the 101st minute made the closing stages nervy but the Hammers held on.
